Weekend at Bertha’s .. Underground
July 25 @ 12:00 pm - July 27 @ 8:00 pm

Weekend at Bertha’s has gone Underground
This is the fifth year of Delaware’s counterculture event Weekend at Bertha’s. Hosted by the Merry Pranksters, in Delaware, we hope to continue the epic historical example of our elders out west. Our neo-prankster group, the Diamond State Merry Pranksters, have put on scenes under this mandate since 2018. The DSMP has hosted and participated in numerous tests, happenings, and scenes from New York to Virginia, upstate Pennsylvania to Inidiana, and many places in between. We take great pride in hosting safe, problem free events, that reach intensities that change and release minds from the doldrum and propaganda onslaught of media and television. We’d like to belive that we are the good guys, in American Culture. We create a safe place for everyone, including many who are considered counter-culture and fringe members of society. This event is the place to be yourself, engage in art, share your craft, engage in coversations with like minds, enjoy holistic arts and workshops, and of course dance the day and night away to some of the country’s best psychedelic bands. Come experience the beauty of liquid light shows and psychedlia, in a safe place … free from hassle.
We will have music all day and night for three days, starting with gates opening at 3pm on Friday, and the last act at 8pm on Sunday. Camping is encouraged for enjoyment and safety, and so all tix come with camping, including single day tix. We never want you driving impared. Our early weekend general admission tix, with camping, cost less than many campgrounds charge, at $70. That price will be available until May.
In the past, we have had artist that included some members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Grammy winners and nominees, and legacy musicans from epic historical bands. Some of those have included Molly Hatchet, Artemus Pyle from Lynyrd Skynard, Johhny Neel from the Allman Brothers, Tom Constanten from the Grateful Dead, Mark Karan from Ratdog, Slick Aguilar from Starship, Dave Crosby Band, and Airplane reunion, world famous banjo player Tony Trishka, the Falco Brothers from Infamous Stringdusters, Midnight North, Kenny Vanella, Sitar virtuoso Indro Roy-Chowdury, and many, many original artists from the region.
This year is UNDERGROUND, and we will be delaying the release of who’s playing our event until much closer to the day it happens. What I can say is this … There will be a member of the Grateful Dead coming, a world class vedic musician, upcoming young jam bands from Colorado, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Delaware, DC Metro, North Carolina .. Prankster fam from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and many other locales. We will have a liquid light show from dusk until late night, on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, we will start the day with Sistar Circles, featuring lady lead hollistic and alternative workshops.
Kids under 18 get in almost free, costing $1 for a GA Weekend. That is so we have a count for how many minors are present. Everyone under 21 must have a parent or guardian present with them. ADA is possible, with better parking, and a concrete based pavillion to dwell under.. which has a view of all the music. Most of the venue is open grass, however. All bathrooms are outdoor porta-potty, with some ADA ports. A limited amount of RV spots are available. Some parts of the venue have more solid ground than other parts, so big vehicles can’t be everywhere. for that reason, a limited amount of RV passes are available for $50. A GA pass or better is still required. For those who like their party to be even better, we have a VIP option. VIP includes access to a VIP tent next to stage, a poster, a laminate / laynard VIP ID, one meal a day, and some drinks. We won’t list all the perks of VIP, tho they definitely justify the rate.
More info to come, including bands with brief bios, more about vending and workshops, and whatever emerges. We hope to see you … It’s going to be a real good time
