Since the opening of Ocean Bank Convocation Center (then FIU arena) on February 1, 1986, opponents quickly learned that winning basketball games on the Modesto A. Maidique campus would be no easy task. The facility has hosted a wide range of events including sporting events, concerts, banquets, trade shows, graduations, convocation ceremonies, and other university and community events.
