Dead Letter No. 9

63 Grand St
Brooklyn, NY 11249 United States

First Fridays Free returns to Dead Letter No. 9 and we’re coming in hot.

FOYER:

9PM–12AM — Van Der Laan
Amsterdam-born and New York-based, Van Der Laan takes the reins with a sound that moves between deep, jazz, and minimal house. As Creative Director at Helix Records, her sets reflect a sharp ear for curation and a deep love for the dance floor.

12AM–3AM — Joopiter
Brooklyn-based multidisciplinary artist Brandon Sinclair, better known as Joopiter, steps in with a dancefloor-ready blend of house, club, and high-energy grooves. He’s lit up rooms from New York to Tulum to Barcelona and shared stages with Romy, Coco & Breezy, Kevin Aviance, and more. A trusted curator and connector in the scene, Joopiter knows exactly how to keep the room moving.

CARGO:

9PM–11PM — Armii1n
Armii1n opens the room with a groove shaped by years on global dance floors. His path has taken him from Tehran to Kuala Lumpur to Miami and now New York, with stops at legendary rooms like Kyo Club, Elysium, Iron Fairies, and The Sweatbox. After sharpening his sound in Miami at Do Not Sit on the Furniture and T Bag Records alongside artists like Seth Troxler and Carl Craig, he’s now woven into NYC’s underground circuit, moving through spaces like Signal, Outer Heaven, H0L0, Apollo Studio, and his own “Pregame” parties.

11PM–1AM — Exequiel
Argentinian-born and São Paulo-based selector Exequiel brings a deep love of house music and the classics to the booth. A longtime force in Brazil’s underground scene, he’s played alongside names like The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, Red Axes, and Mano Le Tough while building his own creative ecosystem through projects like EKO and Katz. His sets balance technique and feeling — thoughtful, groove-forward, and built to pull dancers deeper into the night.

1AM–3:30AM — Love Language
Closing the room, NYC duo Love Language blend dance music with psychedelic indie textures, creating lush, cosmic soundscapes that feel both dreamy and high-energy. Fresh off the release of their identity-defining EP Planet Sunset, their sound captures that glowing moment between day and night. With new music, touring, and a live show on the horizon for 2026, they’re bringing their full universe to CARGO for a late-night ride.
