MANO — A Fundraiser for Independent Film

MANO is a short film set in Bushwick, Brooklyn that follows Nelson Diaz — a former Olympic boxer turned neighborhood barber — who is pulled back into the ring when immigration enforcement targets someone close to him. What begins as a personal crisis unfolds into something larger: a fight for dignity, protection, and the community that raised him.

The film explores how systems quietly erase people, how neighborhoods change overnight, and how resilience can grow in the spaces where pressure builds the most.

On Saturday, April 4, we’re gathering for an evening dedicated to supporting the completion of this independent film. The night will feature a special trailer screening, followed by a conversation with the cast and crew, along with a lineup of Artists and DJs carrying the energy late into the night.

This fundraiser is not only about finishing a film — it’s about sustaining the stories that emerge from the communities that shape this city.
